Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. grated Cheddar cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 lb. crushed soda crackers
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cans asparagus (cut spears)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup

Method

  • Mix crackers and cheese in bowl.
  • Beat eggs and add juice from asparagus.
  • In large square baking dish, pour a little of the juice-egg mixture to cover bottom.
  • Add a thin layer of cheese cracker mixture.
  • Layer remaining ingredients as follows:
  • 1 can asparagus, 1/2 can mushroom soup and a layer of cracker/cheese mixture (spoon some of the juice-egg mixture over this).
  • Repeat, ending with remaining juice-egg mixture.
  • Dot with butter and bake at 400° for 30 minutes or until brown.
