Ingredients
- 1 stick butter or margarine
- 6 medium onions, sliced
- 1 can cream of chicken or mushroom soup
- 1 c. milk
- salt and pepper
- 3/4 lb. grated Swiss cheese
- French bread slices
Method
- Melt 1/2 cup butter in pan.
- Add onions and saute until tender.
- Transfer to baking dish.
- Combine soup, milk, salt and pepper and pour over onions.
- Sprinkle cheese on top.
- Dip bread slices in melted butter and arrange on top.
- Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
