Ingredients

  • 4 to 6 split chicken breasts or 1 cut up chicken
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/4 c. parsley (fresh or dried)
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 can cream of celery soup with 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. sliced almonds

Method

  • Wash chicken parts and cut away excess fat and skin.
  • Place in a large Pyrex baking dish, as bottom layer.
  • Combine all remaining ingredients except almonds and cover all the chicken with this sauce.
  • Bake for 1 hour at 350°.
  • In the last 15 minutes, sprinkle on the sliced almonds.
  • Add 1/4 cup bread crumbs, if desired. Return all to oven for 15 minutes more, until light brown.
