Ingredients

  • 6 slices bread
  • 1 lb. sausage
  • 1 1/2 cups grated cheese
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 cups milk
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard

Method

  • Trim crust from 6 slices of bread.
  • Butter bread and cut into strips.
  • Line large casserole dish with bread.
  • Brown 1 lb. sausage.
  • Drain well on paper towel.
  • Spread over bread.
  • Grate cheese, sprinkle over sausage.
  • Beat eggs with milk, salt, pepper, and dry mustard.
  • Pour over sausage mixture.
  • Let sit in refrigerator 8 hours at least before cooking.
  • Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
  • Can be frozen after setting for 8 hours. before cooking.
