Ingredients
- 12 slices bread
- 6 eggs, beaten
- 2 1/2 c. milk
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/8 tsp. dry mustard
- 3/4 lb. Cheddar cheese, shredded
Method
- Cut crust off bread and cut into cubes.
- Lightly grease or Pam a 2-quart casserole dish.
- Line bread cubes in dish, using 1/2 of bread.
- Beat eggs, milk and seasonings.
- Sprinkle 1/3 of cheese on bread cubes.
- Add another layer of bread and 1/3 of cheese.
- Pour milk mixture over bread and cheese.
- Bake at 350° for 50 minutes. Remove from oven; top with rest of cheese.
- Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon dry parsley.
- Return to oven; bake 10 minutes more.
