Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb. butter or margarine
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 7 eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 box white raisins (golden, seedless)
  • 12 oz. jar maraschino cherries
  • 2 c. walnuts (chopped in large pieces)
  • 4 c. flour

Method

  • Bring raisins to boil, drain and cool.
  • Mix together butter, sugar and eggs, one at a time.
  • Add dry ingredients, then add cherries, nuts and raisins.
  • Pour batter into ungreased tube pan. Bake 15 minutes at 350° and then lower to 300°.
  • Bake for 1 1/2 hours.
  • Cool before removing from pan.
