Ingredients
- 1 c. sugar
- 3 heaping Tbsp. chocolate
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 2 1/4 c. milk
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- pinch of salt
- 3 well beaten egg yolks
Method
- In saucepan, mix sugar, salt, flour, chocolate and cornstarch. Mix well before adding milk to mixture.
- Add milk and cook on medium heat, stirring constantly.
- After mixture heats through, add cup of mixture to beaten egg yolks.
- Then return to pan and cook until smooth and thick.
- Remove from stove, add butter and vanilla.
- Pour into baked pie shell and top with meringue, beaten well.
- Bake in 325° oven until brown.
