Ingredients

  • 6 egg yolks
  • 8 Tbsp. evaporated milk or cream
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. whiskey
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. flour
  • pinch of salt
  • hot oil
  • confectioners sugar

Method

  • Beat egg yolks until stiff.
  • Add milk, pinch of salt, whiskey and sugar.
  • Blend flour and knead until smooth.
  • Refrigerate dough for at least 1 hour or even overnight.
  • Cut dough into 4 pieces, working 1 at a time.
  • Refrigerate rest.
  • Roll very thin and cut into strips about 4 x 2-inches with slanted edges.
  • Make a 1-inch slit in center of each.
  • Draw 1 end through slit and curl back in opposite direction.
