Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 c. cocoa
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. butter
- 2 heaping Tbsp. plain flour
- pinch of salt
- 2 Tbsp. vanilla
Method
- Heat 1 cup of milk and butter; dissolve sugar, cocoa and salt in remaining 1/2 cup of milk.
- Add well beaten egg yolks.
- Pour this mixture into hot milk and butter and cook until stiff, using double boiler or if open pan is used, stir constantly.
- Line deep pie tin with rich crust; pricking with fork and bake until a delicate brown.
- Put cocoa filling in crust and frost with whites of eggs, well beaten.
- Sweeten and flavor to taste.
- Put in oven until slightly brown.
