Ingredients

  • 1 c. coconut
  • box German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 stick butter
  • 3 1/2 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 c. chopped pecans
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese

Method

  • Mix coconut and pecans and press into a greased and floured 9 x 12-inch pan.
  • Prepare cake mix as directed.
  • Pour over coconut and pecan mixture.
  • Melt butter and cream cheese.
  • Add powdered sugar.
  • Mix well and drop by tablespoons on top of cake batter. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes to 1 hour or when cracks form in center of cake.
  • Do not overcook.
  • No icing needed.
