Ingredients
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 2 c. granulated sugar
- 1 tsp. soda
- 2 c. pecans
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Mix together the buttermilk, sugar and soda until sugar is dissolved.
- Place on low to medium heat; bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
- Cook until soft ball stage.
- Add pecans, butter and vanilla.
- Beat until glossy and begins thickening.
- Spoon out on greased wax paper.
- If it gets too thick to spoon out, put it back on the heat for a minute or so.
- It will gradually turn brown while cooking.
