Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup Land O Lakes Butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 Land O Lakes Egg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped blanched almonds
  • 1/3 cup chopped golden raisins
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Candied cherries, if desired
  • Whole almonds, if desired

Method

  • Heat oven to 350F.
  • Spray 13x9-inch baking pan with no-stick cooking spray.
  • Set aside.
  • Combine brown sugar, butter, 1/3 cup honey, egg, 1 tablespoon lemon juice and lemon zest in bowl.
  • Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy.
  • Add flour, cinnamon, baking soda, allspice, cloves and nutmeg; beat at low speed until well mixed.
  • Stir in 1/3 cup blanched almonds and raisins.
  • Spread batter into prepared pan.
  • Bake 18-20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Cool completely.
  • Stir together all glaze ingredients in bowl until smooth.
  • Drizzle over bars.
  • Garnish with candied cherries and almonds, if desired.
