Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 tsp. butter flavor
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 3 c. sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 pkg. German's sweet chocolate

Method

  • Cream sugar and shortening.
  • Add eggs, vanilla, butter flavor and buttermilk.
  • Sift together dry ingredients and add to other. Mix well.
  • Add chocolate that has been softened in double boiler or microwave.
  • Blend well.
  • Bake in well-greased and floured Bundt pan for 1 1/2 hours at 300°.
  • Remove from pan while still hot.
  • Cover in tight container until cold.
