Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • garlic to taste
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pkg. wide egg noodles
  • 1 (8 oz.) can drained mushrooms
  • cream of chicken or mushroom soup, undiluted
  • 8 oz. sour cream

Method

  • Brown meat and drain.
  • Stir in onion, butter, garlic, flour, salt, pepper and mushrooms.
  • Cook 5 minutes.
  • Stir in soup with 1/2 can milk.
  • Simmer, uncovered, until onions are cooked through. Stir in sour cream and heat through.
  • Cook egg noodles according to directions.
  • Pour stroganoff over noodles.
  • Stroganoff can also be served with white rice.
