Ingredients
- 1 pt. boiling water
- 1 1/4 c. cornmeal
- 1 tsp. salt
- shortening for frying
Method
- Add salt to boiling water.
- Stir in the meal, let cool until you can handle it; shape into patties and brown in skillet with at least 1 inch deep.
- Cook until golden brown, drain on paper towel. Serve hot.
- Delicious with turnip greens.
