Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 c. all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. oil
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. blackberry jam
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. pecans, chopped

Method

  • In a large bowl, mix all ingredients (except pecans).
  • When batter is smooth and sugar is dissolved, add pecans.
  • Bake in two 9x9 pans for 40 minutes at 350°.
  • (I line the bottom of pans with wax paper and grease and flour sides.)
