Ingredients
- 2 c. or 1 lb. lentils, soaked in cold water, washed and drained
- 1 small onion, minced
- 1 thin slice garlic
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 3 qt. cold water
Method
- Saute margarine with onion, celery and garlic.
- Add parsley, salt and pepper.
- Add water and simmer for 2 hours.
- Add 1/2 pound ham shank, if desired.
