Ingredients

  • 1/3 c. soft butter
  • 3 oz. soft cream cheese
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tsp. almond extract
  • 2 tsp. orange juice
  • 1 1/4 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 5 c. flaked coconut
  • 8 oz. Hershey's Kisses (dark chocolate is best)

Method

  • Beat butter, cream cheese and sugar in large bowl until well blended.
  • Add egg yolk, almond extract and orange juice; beat well.
  • Stir together flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture.
  • Stir in 3 c. coconut.
  • Cover and refrigerate 1 hour or until firm enough to handle.
  • Shape dough into balls; roll in coconut and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and immediately press Hershey Kiss on top of each cookie.
  • Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
