Ingredients

  • 1-lb. sausage (hot or mild)
  • 1-lb. ground chuck
  • 1-lb. Velveeta cheese
  • 1 tsp. basil
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. parsley flakes
  • Party size rye bread
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese on top (optional)

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brown sausage and ground chuck in large skillet. Drain well. Melt cheese into meat and add remaining ingredients. Stir until mixed well. Spread on rye bread slices and place on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees until bubbly. Can be prepared in advance and frozen. Freeze on cookie sheet: remove to freezer bag. Remove as needed and bake.
