Ingredients

  • 34 cup butter, softened
  • 14 cup shortening
  • 34 cup sugar
  • 34 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 14 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 14 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (12 ounce) package semisweet chocolate morsels

Method

  • Cream butter and shortening, gradually add sugars, beating well at medium speed with an electric mixer.
  • Add eggs and vanilla, beating well.
  • Combine flour, soda, and salt, add to creamed mixture, mix well.
  • Stir in chocolate morsels.
  • Drop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake at 375F for 9-11 minutes.
  • Cool slightly on cookie sheets, remove to wire racks and cool completely.
