Ingredients

  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 2 egg yolks + 3 eggs
  • 1/2 c. flaked coconut
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1/4 c. melted margarine
  • 2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2/3 c. unsifted flour
  • 1/3 c. unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/3 c. water
  • confectioners sugar
  • chocolate glaze (optional)

Method

  • Line 15 x 10-inch jelly roll pan with foil. Grease foil.
  • In medium bowl, combine condensed milk, 2 egg yolks, coconut, nuts, margarine and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Mix well.
  • Spread in pan. In large bowl, beat 3 eggs at high speed until fluffy. Gradually beat in sugar, then beat 2 minutes.
  • Add remaining ingredients, except confectioners sugar. Beat 1 minute. Pour evenly over coconut mixture. Bake 20 to 25 minutes at 350°. Sprinkle with confectioner sugar.
  • Immediately turn onto towel. Peel off foil, begin at narrow end and roll up cake, jelly roll fashion. Place on serving plate, seam side down; cool. Sprinkle with additional confectioners sugar and drizzle with chocolate glaze.
