Ingredients
- 2 tsp. margarine
- `1 1/2 c. chopped onions
- 1/2 c. chopped fennel
- 1 packet instant onion broth and seasoning mix, dissolved in 3/4 c. warm water
- dash of white pepper
- 2 (1 oz.) slices French bread, toasted
- 1 1/2 oz. reduced fat Swiss cheese, shredded
Method
- In 1 quart nonstick saucepan, melt margarine; add onions and fennel.
- Cook over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until onions are translucent, about 2 minutes.
- Add 1/2 cup water, the dissolved broth mix and pepper; bring mixture to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low and let simmer until flavors blend, about 15 minutes.
