Ingredients
- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. peanut butter
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 48 chocolate star candies
Method
- Combine all ingredients except candy in large mixing bowl. Mix on low speed until dough forms ball.
- Add a little milk if too dry.
- Chill.
- Shape dough into balls.
- Roll into sugar.
- Place on cookie sheet.
- Bake at 350° until golden.
- Press candy in center of cookie immediately after removing from oven.
- Cookies will be cracked looking.
