Ingredients

  • 1/2 cups White Corn Syrup
  • 3/4 cups Margarine
  • 3/4 cups White Sugar
  • 1 cup Peanut Butter
  • 1/2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 7 cups Plain Cheerios, Or Chocolate Cheerios

Method

  • In a large saucepan, combine syrup, margarine and sugar.
  • Bring to a boil, then continue boiling for 1-2 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and add peanut butter and vanilla.
  • Stir until smooth, then add cereal.
  • Stir gently to coat, and then press into a buttered 9x13 pan.
  • Cool, cut, and serve.
  • Wrap individual bars in plastic wrap or Ziploc bags and put in the freezer for lunches.
  • Note: using chocolate Cheerios makes the bars taste like Reeses peanut butter cups.
