Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. corn syrup
  • 1 c. peanut butter
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1/2 stick margarine

Method

  • Mix sugar, corn syrup and milk; cook on stove until thermometer reaches 236° (soft-ball stage).
  • Remove from heat. Add margarine; cool syrup until lukewarm (110°).
  • Add vanilla, peanut butter and nuts.
  • Beat until candy begins to thicken and loses its high gloss.
  • Turn immediately into a buttered 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
  • When cool, cut into squares.
