Ingredients
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. corn syrup
- 1 c. peanut butter
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/4 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- 1/2 stick margarine
Method
- Mix sugar, corn syrup and milk; cook on stove until thermometer reaches 236° (soft-ball stage).
- Remove from heat. Add margarine; cool syrup until lukewarm (110°).
- Add vanilla, peanut butter and nuts.
- Beat until candy begins to thicken and loses its high gloss.
- Turn immediately into a buttered 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
- When cool, cut into squares.
