Ingredients

  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1/2 c. evaporated milk
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 c. marshmallow pieces
  • 3/4 c. peanut butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • In heavy saucepan, combine sugars, milk and butter. Cook until a soft ball forms in cold water (235°).
  • Just before removing pan from heat, add remaining ingredients.
  • Stir until marshmallows are almost melted.
  • Remove from heat. Beat until mixture begins to thicken, about 1 minute.
  • Pour immediately into buttered 8-inch square pan. When cool, cut into serving sized pieces.
  • Yields 1 1/2 pounds.
