Ingredients
- 2 c. flour (self-rising)
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 6 Tbsp. shortening
- 2/3 c. milk
Method
- Preheat oven to 450°.
- Measure dry ingredients into a bowl and stir thoroughly.
- Cut shortening into flour mixture with a pastry blender until mixture looks like "meal".
- Make a well in the dry ingredients and add milk.
- Stir with a fork until mixture rounds up in a ball and no dry ingredients remain.
- Avoid overhandling.
