- 1 1/2 lb. mild Italian sausage
- 1 box mostaccioli macaroni
- 2 (10 1/2 oz.) tomato puree
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 can water
- 1/4 tsp. garlic
- 1/4 tsp. oregano
- 1 large Mozzarella cheese
- 2 (4 oz.) cans mushrooms
Method
- Cook and drain macaroni.
- Skin sausage and brown; drain off any liquid from sausage.
- Add spices, tomato sauce, tomato puree, mushrooms and water. Simmer 10 minutes.
- Mix with macaroni.
- Put half in 9 x 13 pan.
- Top with half of the Mozzarella cheese.
- Add remaining meat and macaroni.
- Top with remaining cheese.
- Bake uncovered at 350° for 30 minutes.
