Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. mild Italian sausage
  • 1 box mostaccioli macaroni
  • 2 (10 1/2 oz.) tomato puree
  • 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 can water
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic
  • 1/4 tsp. oregano
  • 1 large Mozzarella cheese
  • 2 (4 oz.) cans mushrooms

Method

  • Cook and drain macaroni.
  • Skin sausage and brown; drain off any liquid from sausage.
  • Add spices, tomato sauce, tomato puree, mushrooms and water. Simmer 10 minutes.
  • Mix with macaroni.
  • Put half in 9 x 13 pan.
  • Top with half of the Mozzarella cheese.
  • Add remaining meat and macaroni.
  • Top with remaining cheese.
  • Bake uncovered at 350° for 30 minutes.
