Ingredients
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1 crushed garlic bud
- 1 1/2 c. rice
- 6 c. chicken broth
- 1 tsp. basil
- salt and pepper
- pinch of powdered saffron
- 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
- 6 pork sausages
Method
- Cook onion, garlic and rice in olive oil slowly for about 8 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Season with basil, salt and pepper (if necessary) and add chicken broth to rice a little at a time, mixing constantly as the rice absorbs the liquid.
- Add saffron. Cook about 30 minutes or until rice is tender and quite moist, but not mushy and soft.
- Stir in cheese just before serving.
- Serve with pork sausage.
