Ingredients

  • 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour before measuring
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup crisco shortening
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg separated
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped pecans
  • 1 tsp of strawberry jelly ,pineapple , apricot and black berry jellys or jams (per cookie)

Method

  • pre- heat oven to 375F,and bake.... on a cookie sheet.
  • mix shortening, brown sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla.mix until smooth.add sifted flour and salt mix till well combine.
  • roll into 1" balls, dip in slightly beatened egg white, one at a time, then place it in pecans, covering the ball, place it on cookie sheet, do all the cookies in it or as meny as u like.
  • now useing ur thumb make a thumb print in center of the cookies .
  • fill jellys in, the center of cookies.
  • place in oven bake 10 to 12 minutes.
  • take out of the oven, let set to cool.
