Ingredients
- 1 c. butter, softened
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 7/8 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. chopped toasted almonds or pecans
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 6 plain milk chocolate bars
Method
- Cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy and add egg yolk and vanilla.
- Gradually beat in flour until smooth and blended. (Dough will be thick.)
- Spread evenly on ungreased 16 x 14 x 1-inch baking pan.
- Bake at 350° for 15 minutes.
- Remove from oven and arrange unwrapped candy bars evenly near surface of crust. Let stand for 5 minutes to soften.
- Spread over crust and sprinkle nuts over top.
- Cut into squares.
