Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter or margarine
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 35 saltine crackers
  • 1 large pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil. Arrange crackers, 7 across and 5 down.
  • Melt butter with brown sugar, mix and pour over saltines.
  • Bake 15 to 20 minutes (will bubble and harden when removed).
  • Sprinkle warm toffee with chocolate chips and spread with a spatula when melted.
  • Sprinkle with nuts.
  • Chill until firm.
  • Peel off foil and break into pieces.
