Ingredients

  • 2 cucumbers, peeled and seeds removed
  • salt
  • 3/4 c. plain yogurt
  • 1/2 c. sour cream
  • 1/2 clove garlic, crushed
  • juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 3 sticks butter
  • 2 c. warm water
  • 4 pkg. yeast
  • 2 c. milk
  • 2 1/2 c. sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 5 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Dissolve yeast in warm water.
  • Cream butter and sugar; add eggs one at a time.
  • Add vanilla, then add flour and knead to make a soft dough.
  • Let rise and punch down.
  • Let rise before baking on a cookie sheet (greased).
  • Shape as a loaf.
  • Bake at 350° until golden.
