Ingredients

  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 lb. chopped lean beef
  • 1 can Del Monte tomato wedges (in tomato juice)
  • 1 can Ro-Tel tomatoes (with chilies)
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 13 Tbsp. Lawry's chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. celery salt
  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp. comino
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. water

Method

  • In heavy iron pot saute onion and garlic in olive oil until golden.
  • Add beef and brown thoroughly.
  • Add all remaining ingredients.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer 3 hours. Remove bay leaf.
