Ingredients

  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 cup Oats
  • 1 teaspoon Allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/4 teaspoons Salt
  • 1/2 cups Crisco Shortening
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 cup Unsweetened Applesauce
  • 1/2 cups Raisins
  • 1/2 cups Pecans, Chopped

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, oats, allspice, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  • In another mixing bowl, cream the shortening and the sugar. Add the egg and the applesauce. Add the flour mixture and mix well. Incorporate the raisins and the chopped pecans.
  • Drop the dough by tablespoonfuls onto a parchment paper-lined cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 11-15 minutes or until the cookies are golden.
