Ingredients

  • 4 dessert apples
  • 2 oz. brown sugar
  • 2 oz. raisins
  • cinnamon to taste
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1/2 pt. cream, whipped
  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg. puff pastry
  • 1 beaten egg

Method

  • Preheat oven to 400°.
  • Peel and core apples. Stuff the centers with mixture of brown sugar, raisins and cinnamon.
  • Roll out pastry and cut into 4 circles approximately 8 inches in diameter, depending on size of the apples.
  • Place an apple in the center of pastry circle and brush the edge with beaten egg.
  • Draw up pastry to enfold the apple, pressing edge to seal.
  • Brush tops of pastry with remaining egg.
  • Bake in shallow dish for 40 minutes.
  • Serve with whipped cream.
