Ingredients
- 4 dessert apples
- 2 oz. brown sugar
- 2 oz. raisins
- cinnamon to taste
- 1 beaten egg
- 1/2 pt. cream, whipped
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. puff pastry
- 1 beaten egg
Method
- Preheat oven to 400°.
- Peel and core apples. Stuff the centers with mixture of brown sugar, raisins and cinnamon.
- Roll out pastry and cut into 4 circles approximately 8 inches in diameter, depending on size of the apples.
- Place an apple in the center of pastry circle and brush the edge with beaten egg.
- Draw up pastry to enfold the apple, pressing edge to seal.
- Brush tops of pastry with remaining egg.
- Bake in shallow dish for 40 minutes.
- Serve with whipped cream.
