Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 lb. spareribs, cut into serving-size pieces
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 2 medium onions, sliced
  • 3/4 c. ketchup
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 2 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1/2 tsp. ground red pepper

Method

  • Sprinkle ribs on both sides with salt and pepper; place in a shallow roasting pan.
  • Lay onion slices over ribs.
  • Combine remaining ingredients and pour over ribs.
  • Cover and bake at 350° for 1 hour; baste occasionally, turning ribs twice.
  • Remove cover and bake 15 minutes longer.
