- 1 1/2 ounces white whiskey, preferably rye-based
- 1 ounce Carpano Antica Formula or other sweet vermouth
- 1/4 ounce Cynar (bitter artichoke aperitif)
- 1/4 ounce Fernet-Branca (bitter Italian digestif)
- 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
- 2 mint sprigs, lightly bruised
- 1 lemon twist
- In a mixing glass, combine all of the ingredients except ice and the twist.
- Fill with ice and stir well, then strain into a chilled coupe.
- Pinch the twist over the drink and discard.
