Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 ounces white whiskey, preferably rye-based
  • 1 ounce Carpano Antica Formula or other sweet vermouth
  • 1/4 ounce Cynar (bitter artichoke aperitif)
  • 1/4 ounce Fernet-Branca (bitter Italian digestif)
  • 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
  • 2 mint sprigs, lightly bruised
  • Ice
  • 1 lemon twist

Method

  • In a mixing glass, combine all of the ingredients except ice and the twist.
  • Fill with ice and stir well, then strain into a chilled coupe.
  • Pinch the twist over the drink and discard.
