Ingredients

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • juice of 1 lime
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped or minced
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped red onion
  • 1/2 tomato, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. or more chopped cilantro
  • dash of Tabasco sauce
  • salt to taste

Method

  • Peel and seed the avocados.
  • Mash the avocados in a nonmetallic bowl with a fork.
  • Don't overdo it.
  • Add the lime juice, garlic and Tabasco.
  • Add a dash or two of salt.
  • Taste and see if you need to add any more lime juice or salt.
  • Add the remaining ingredients, and stir judiciously (the guacamole's texture should be chunky, not pureed).
  • Refrigerate until you're ready to serve it.
