Ingredients

  • 2 (6 ounce.) cans clams
  • 1 c. celery (minced)
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 quart. half and half
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 c. minced onions
  • 2 c. finely minced potatoes
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Pepper to taste

Method

  • Drain juice from clams and pour over vegetables in saucepan; add in sufficient water to barely cover and simmer about 20 min.
  • Heat butter, add in flour and blend or possibly cook a minute or possibly two.
  • Add in half and half and cook.
  • Stir till smooth and thick.
  • Use wire whip to blend.
  • Add in liquid removed vegetables, clams and heat.
  • Season.
