Ingredients

  • 2 (10 oz.) pkg. broccoli
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cheese
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 3 to 4 slices bread
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Method

  • Cook broccoli and onions; drain.
  • Place in a 2-quart casserole dish.
  • Melt butter, blend in flour, add milk and cook until it thickens; reduce heat.
  • Add cream cheese and 3/4 of Cheddar cheese.
  • Pour sauce over broccoli and mix.
  • Top with remaining cheese.
  • Cut bread into large cubes, dip in melted butter.
  • Place on top of casserole.
  • Bake 1 hour at 350°.
