Ingredients
- 4 medium tomatoes
- 1 large garlic clove, sliced thin
- 4 teaspoons dried marjoram or 4 teaspoons dried oregano
- 8 teaspoons olive oil
- salt & freshly ground black pepper
Method
- Preheat broiler.
- Cut each tomato in half and arrange cut side up in a shallow baking dish.
- Insert a sliver of garlic into the center of each half tomato.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Sprinkle marjoram, or oregano, over each half.
- Sprinkle with olive oil.
- Broil 8 to 10 minutes, until bubbling and garlic starts to brown.
- Discard garlic and serve.
