Ingredients

  • 4 loin pork chops (3/4-inch thick)
  • 1 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1/2 c. uncooked or processed rice
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 4 medium onions
  • 2 large carrots
  • pork gravy or condensed mushroom soup

Method

  • About 1 1/2 hours before dinner, heat oven to 350°.
  • Trim fat from chops and heat in skillet.
  • Sprinkle chops well with seasoned salt; brown both sides well in hot skillet, remove to 2-quart casserole.
  • Add rice to drippings in skillet and cook, stirring until brown.
  • Stir in gravy or soup, water, salt and pepper. Arrange onions and carrots on top of chops.
  • Pour on gravy mix. Bake uncovered 1 hour or until chops and vegetables are tender. Makes 4 servings.
