Ingredients
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1/3 c. white sugar
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1 Tbsp. melted shortening
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 c. chopped nuts
- 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. cocoa
Method
- Mix together the flour, white sugar, baking powder, 1 tablespoon cocoa and salt.
- Mix only until smooth.
- Add milk, shortening, vanilla and nuts.
- Spread into a greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish.
- Mix together brown sugar and 2 tablespoons cocoa and sprinkle over batter.
- Pour 1 cup boiling water over batter. This forms sauce in bottom of the pan as pudding is baked. Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes.
- Makes 6 to 8 servings.
