Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 12 teaspoon baking soda
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 12 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 (11 1/2 ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In one bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In separate bowl, mix butter, brown sugar, and sugar.
  • Add vanilla, egg, and egg yolk to the wet ingredients (butter, brown sugar, sugar mixture).
  • Mix well.
  • Add dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, salt) to wet mixture.
  • Add chocolate chips, mix until chips are incorporated.
  • By hand, roll pieces of dough into 1 1/4 inch balls then flatten until approximately 2 1/2 inches in diameter.
  • Place on cookie sheet covered by parchment paper.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes.
  • Let them sit for about 10 minutes.
  • The earlier you take them out, the chewier they will be.
