Ingredients
- 1 (9-inch) pie shell, baked
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. white syrup
- 3 Tbsp. flour (little more, if needed)
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 stick butter
- 3 Tbsp. cocoa
Method
- Combine sugar, cocoa, flour and salt in top of double boiler. Add milk, syrup and butter, plus beaten egg yolks.
- Cook over boiling water until thick.
- Let cool and add vanilla.
- Put in pie shell and top with meringue.
