Ingredients
- 3 egg whites, unbeaten
- 2 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. water
- 2 tsp. light corn syrup
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Combine egg whites, sugar, water and corn syrup in top of double boiler.
- Beat until thoroughly mixed, then place over rapidly boiling water, beating constantly and cook for 18 minutes or until frosting will stand in peaks.
- Add coloring to hot frosting to give delicate shell pink tint.
- Remove from boiling water, add vanilla and beat until thick enough to spread.
- Makes enough frosting for 3 layer cake and 1 extra cup for decorating.
