Ingredients

  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. light brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 c. quick oats
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chips

Method

  • Cream together shortening and sugars until light.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, and vanilla.
  • Blend well.
  • Add flour, baking soda and salt gradually to creamed mixture.
  • Stir in oatmeal, nuts and chocolate chips.
  • Drop by spoonfuls on well-greased cookie sheet. Put in a 350° oven and bake for 10 minutes.
