Ingredients

  • 1 fryer chicken, cut up (3 or 4 lb.)
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 c. diced onion
  • 1/2 c. diced celery
  • 1 c. whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1 c. barbecue sauce

Method

  • Sprinkle chicken with salt and pepper.
  • Brown in a skillet in butter.
  • Place in 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
  • Saute onion and celery in drippings until tender.
  • Add cranberry sauce and barbecue sauce.
  • Mix well.
  • Pour over chicken.
  • Bake uncovered at 350° for 1 1/2 hours, basting every 15 minutes.
