Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 3/4 c. orange juice or Tang
  • 1 tsp. grated orange rind
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Method

  • Sift together all dry ingredients.
  • Cut in shortening.
  • Combine orange juice, rind and egg in different bowl.
  • Pour liquids in dry ingredients, mixing just enough until moist.
  • Fold in nuts and cranberries.
  • Grease and flour 9 x 5-inch bread pan.
  • Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
